Webroot Spy Sweeper 4.5 Plugin

This is a PEBuilder plugin for the WebRoot SpySweeper 4.5 program.

It also requires the following plugins from my website:

RunScanner 1.0.0.15 or later
ShellExecute for the XPE shortcuts

Install the latest registered version of SpySweeper 4.5, update the definitions, perform a system scan.

Create a folder named SpySweeper in your pebuilder plugin directory.

Extract the contents of the cab file into the SpySweeper directory ( maintaining the folder structure in the plugin ). The easiest way to extract the contents of the cab file is to use the Add plugin option on the Pebuilder Plugins page. You should finish up with the following giles in your SpySweeper plugin directory:

GetSpySweeper.exe
SpySweeper.htm
SpySweeper.inf
SpySweeper.xml
Files\SpySweeper.cmd

Run the GetSpySweeper.exe program from the plugin directory - if your ram drive letter is not the default B: then you should run the GetSpySweeper program specifying one parameter which is the ram drive letter:

GetSpySweeper {<RamDriveLetter>}

e.g. GetSpySweeper Z: if your ram drive is Z.

Its better if you do this from the command line to make sure it runs without error.

This will copy all necessary files from your current SpySweeper installation to the the plugin folder and also update the inf file with three values from the SpySweeper registry for the current installation. You should finish up with the following files:

GetSpySweeper.exe
SpySweeper.htm
SpySweeper.inf
SpySweeper.xml
Drivers\ssi.sys
Files\image01.gif
Files\image02.gif
Files\image03.gif
Files\image04.gif
Files\image05.gif
Files\install.dat
Files\islzma.dll
Files\Language.dll
Files\libeay32.dll
Files\license.txt
Files\Masters
Files\Masters.base
Files\Quarantine
Files\SafeSweeper.exe
Files\Shields
Files\SpyHelp.chm
Files\SpyNews.htm
Files\SpySweeper.cmd
Files\SpySweeper.exe
Files\SSCtxMnu.dll
Files\ssi.dll
Files\ssleay32.dll
Files\wrid.dll
Files\wrlzma.dll
Files\WRSSSDK.exe
Files\Masters\Masters.const
Files\Masters\Masters.mst
Files\Shields\BHO
Files\Shields\Startup
Files\Shields\BHO\bhs.dat

Check that the SpySweeper.inf file was updated with 4 lines at the end of the file that contain something like:

[Software.AddReg]
0x1, "Webroot\ClientRegistry","b:\SpySweeper\SpySweeper.exe","....."
0x1, "Webroot\ClientRegistry","b:\SpySweeper\SafeSweeper.exe","...."
0x1, "Webroot\SpySweeper","ClientRegistry","....."

Note: if you later update the version of SpySweeper in your current installation then rerun the GetSpySweeper program to copy the updated version of the SpySweeper files to the plugin directory - the three client registry settings change with each new version of the SpySweeper program.
